Since January 24th 2014, new self-defence workshops and classes are conducted in collaboration with USDF (United Social Development Foundation) in corporates, colonies, NGOs, fitness centres, associations, private groups, etc.
September 28th, Class 3 (floor fighting) with PROUD (People’s Responsible Organisation of United Dharavi) in Subash Nagar, Dharavi.
September 27th, Workshop at Sophia College for Women, Bridge Candy, Cumballa Hill, Mumbai. Thank you Mrs. Lulla for your organisational skills.

September 24th, Workshop + Class 1 (prevention – dissuasion – “soft” and tough blows while standing) with PROUD (People’s Responsible Organisation of United Dharavi) in Subash Nagar, Dharavi. September 18th, workshop at Saraswati College of Engineering in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Different male students involved themselves in organising the workshop which was a nice surprise.

August 21st, Akshara “sports day” at Prabhadevi ground in Elphinston. The girls have to assert themselves and show their presence in parks for some boys are used not to let them play and also insult them when they come alone or in small groups. Being respected and enjoying life is for women an everyday struggle since childhood…
August 6th, 18th and 21st, private self-defence classes in Lower Parel.
August 9th, Class (1) in Dharavi in collaboration with Reality Gives and USDF. How to use the voice, how to dissuade verbally, how to shout as a wild animal when needed + “Soft” and tough blows and kicks while standing. July 19th, Workshop with the NGO Reality Gives in Dharavi. It is always good to remind the girls that they have to assert themselves in their everyday life and that Mother Nature made them strong. As the female cheetah, as the tigress, as the female leopard, as the lioness, etc. they CAN be their own bodyguard! New workshops and classes will be conducted soon with Reality Gives, in association with USDF.

June 21, Akshara workshop (2) in Dadar W. After the “soft” blows they learnt last week the girls came to know about their reptilian hands and the tough (survival) blows for more dangerous situations. Now the girls know how strong and fierce they can be and that they do not need any muscle nor to weight 100kg to defend themselves.
On this playground boys are not really eager to let the girls play thus Akshara wants them to assert themselves and get some room for the games they play alone when no adults with them.

April 28, workshop at Prerana, Red Light District, Grant Road E (www.preranaantitrafficking.org). It has been really useful to train the amazing women of Prerana staff who are doing a difficult work helping and counselling the prostitutes of Red Light District and also protecting their children from the pimps. Regular workshops and classes will now be conducted for Prerana staff and the women in need.
